Abeer Soofi is not his real name. It is his screen name. Most people guess that he had done it intentionally to play the part better. Sai Baba may have been a Muslim but he was worshiped by people of all religions in India. Thus, Vaibhav Saraswat took up this unique name when he was selected to play the part of Sai Baba in the latest serial.

When he interacted with these criminals, he came to know that they were addicted to drugs, and committed these petty crimes to get money to purchase drugs. Thus, he now uses his fame to get to a larger group, and tries to educate youngsters to abstain from the use of drug.

When he is not busy shooting for the serial, he loves to take long drives around the city. It is his hobby and relaxes him. Apart from this, he also loves to watch Hindi movies as well.

Previous Projects

The portrayal of Sai Baba, in “Mere Sai” may have brought him name and fame, but before this, he was seen in small roles in other serial as well. Some of the projects where he acted were Narayan Narayan, and Paltan. He also had significant screen time in serials like Dharti Ki God Mein and Khawbon Ki Zameen.

Current project “‘Mere Sai”

In August 2017, Sony TV announced that it was about to launch a new devotional serial. As religion has a deep impact on the people of India, average individuals love to see their favorite actors and actresses playing the roles of Gods and Goddesses on the small screen. Though Abeer Soofi had played the role of Lord Shiva in a previous serial, his big break came with “‘Mere Sai” where he was selected to play the main character. Dashami Creations is the producer of this serial, and it airs five days a week (Monday to Friday.) He has succeeded in striking the right cords with the Indian viewers. The serial enjoys high TRP ratings. It is not easy to represent such strong characters, especially when it is directly linked with religion. But Abeer Soofi has pulled it off with ease. His strong acting skills have assisted him in winning the hearts of thousands of Indian serial viewers.
