Shreyas Iyer is better known as Indian Cricketer who has been associated with Mumbai Indians Cricket team. He has been in the past and present been associated with Indian Team for playing T20 (Twenty Internationals) and ODI (One Day International). He is currently a part of the Indian National Team. As a professional Cricketer he has managed to maintain his form with the team for batting and bowling alike.

Shreyas Iyer has been talk of the town ever since his match for U-19 team when he first appeared for the U-19 World Cup match. Apart from this he has also represented the country for a number of Matches in the season including 2014 Trent Bridge Team.

Early Information [ Coach] and Education

Shreyas Iyer basically has been born in Mumbai his home town Ever since the age of 12 years Shreyas was coached at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana by Coach Pravin Amre. At the early days of his cricket career he was also compared with Virender Sehwag.

In his early days of education Shreyas Iyer had completed his education from Podar College in Mumbai. During his early childhood Shreyas also managed to win few trophies in cricket for his college.

Cricket – Early Days

The Indian Cricketer began his career with the game play representing for ODI and T20 (I). He played his role as a professional cricketer for the National Team. He has managed to gain his place in the team as Right Arm Off Break Bowler and Right Handed Batsman. In 2014 Shreyas also managed to be a part of the team for U-19 World Cup.

During the 2014 season, Shreyas managed to be a part of the team representing the Country at Trent Bridge – England. Currently he is a flourished cricketer representing Delhi Daredevils Team for IPL (Indian Premier League) 2018 after Gautam Gambhir stepped down as the team captain.

Domestic Career

  • UK trip – Shreyas Iyer represented the Trent Bridge team in 2014 and managed to score over 297 runs creating a new record score of 171 averaging to around 99. He made the score in three matches.
  • List A debut – In 2014 Shreyas Iyer made his first List A debut when playing 2014-15 Vijay Hazare trophy match in November scoring at an average of 54.60 and 273 runs.
  • First Class – In December 2014 for Ranji Trophy Shreyas Iyer managed to score 809 runs at an average of 50.56 with over six fifties and Two centuries. In the same match he also managed to place himself as highest scorer of the season in 7th
  • IPL – in 2015 Delhi Daredevils auctioned him for 2.6 crores and Shreyas managed to gain status of highest Uncapped player of the season scoring 439 runs with average of 33.76 and 128.36 strike rate in 14 matches. For IPL he also managed to be the 9thconsistent player of the season.
  • Ranji Trophy- for 2015-16 Shreyas scored over 1321 runs along with seven fifties and 4 centuries and average of 73.39. He also managed to place himself in 2nd position for scoring 1300 runs for the season in Ranji Trophy. In the same trophy Shreyas Iyer for 2016-17 managed to score 2 centuries and 2 fifties with over 725 runs and average of 42.64. He was also one of the only player to score 202 not out when playing against Team Australia.

International Career

  • In 2017 March Shreyas Iyer played for the test match against Team Australia during test squad. He also managed to prove himself as best fielder in 4th Test match replacing Virat Kohli.
  • In the match played in 2017 October T20 (I), against NZ he was named as man of the match for the series. On 1st November 2017 he managed to make his first T20(I) debut for team India against NZ team.
  • In the same series he managed to score 23 runs in just 21 balls displaying his best batting skills. He also managed to gain the status of man of the series when playing against Sri Lanka Team. The match was played on December 10th
  • In 2018 January Shreyas played for the country against Team South Africa in ODI.


It is obvious that with so many scores to his credit Shreyas Iyer has already made his presence with the Indian cricket team as a leading batsman and bowler. We can see a lot of his game play in the near future in the upcoming events.
